Medicines

Medicine items can be kept in the same waterproof plastic box as your first aid supplies. It's recommended that you keep them separately bagged or partitioned within the box.

The following list serves as a general guide to which you can make your own changes, additions and subtractions. Amounts are based on "per person per day" maximums. As with other topics, should you have comments, suggestions or additions, please e-mail them in.

  • Aspirin or Tylenol ... 6/day ... for headaches, pain and fever.

  • Ibuprophen ... 3/night ...for strains or inflammations.

  • Imodium ... 1/night ... for overactive irregularity.

  • Laxitive ... 1/day ... for constipation.

  • Antihistamine ... 2/day ... for insect stings, itching.

  • Salt-drink powder ... 2 tablespoons/day ... for electrolyte replacement.

  • Small tube of Ambusol for toothache, cankers, etc.

  • Sun block ... 2oz./day ... for reducing sun burn.

  • Insect repellant ... 4oz. manual pump applicator.

  • Water purification tabs ... in case boiling or filtering is compromised.
