12. Wood Fire Cooking

Carry a small grill ... enough for a pair of pots. Scoop out the ashes from the fire pit. Make a combination windbreak and grill support from rocks.

Stockpile kindling and firewood. Dry them out on windswept rocks. Then, keep them dry under your tarp.

You don't need a raging inferno. A small bed of coals, regularly fed with dead branch pieces, will require less effort.
