6. Canoe Lake (Main St.) Canoe Lake is one of the best known and most used access lakes in Algonquin Park. Its shores are dotted with leased cottage sites and youth camps. Much early park history centered around this lake. While motor boats are encountered on this lake, the common detraction for the outgoing canoeist is the headwind usually blowing from the north end of the lake.
