Standing Tall

Taken 7/18/02 AM at marshy area at east end of Big Trout Lake. We were admiring the moose grazing on vegetation when we heard a noise from across the waterway and realized we were directly between mother and calf. The mother pulled her legs out of the muck, stood up tall and still as if to let us take photos of her in all of her glory, then waded across the waterway, not more than ten feet from us, to check out her baby.

I used a Canon Rebel G with 30-200 zoom lense. I was only zoomed to about 75 or 100, The moose was literally right on top of us. I think I was using Kodak 100 ASA film.
