Photo submissions are subject to certain conditions:
- Photo must have been actually taken by the same individual submitting them.
- Photo submitted by e-mail must come from e-mail address of the person submitting them.
- Person submitting photo must provide their proper name (at least last name and first initial).
- Photographer's name and e-mail address will be shown alongside each photo.
- Photographer retains original rights to reproduction.
- No fee or payment is involved in Algonquin Adventures' inclusion of photos in the Gallery section.
- Photo must have been taken within the boundaries of Algonquin Park.
- Photo isn't already included in an online trip-log.
- No more than 3 photos are submitted (e-mailed) at one time.
- Photos being submitted by e-mail should be in JPEG (.jpg) format.
- Algonquin Adventures reserves the right to accept or reject submissions.
- Photos may be enhanced to remove flaws such as scratches and flare.
- Photos may be enhanced to improve gamma, colour balance, sharpness, etc.
- Horizontal photos will be resized to 480 x 320 pixels or close thereto.
- Vertical photos will be resized to a height of 320 pixels and proportional width.
- Cropping will be minimized in an effort to retain original composition.
- Final photo file sizes will probably be in the 30k to 50k range.
The following guidelines are given to help in the submission process.
- The Gallery isn't a chance to get your entire photo album online.
- The Gallery is your opportunity to share your best Algonquin photos.
- Specify the category you think each of you photos belongs in.
- Give each photo a very brief title.
- Provide each photo with a few descriptive sentences for accompanying text.
- Provide film-camera or digital-camera detail if available.
- Try to reduce photo file size to less than 400k. Meg-size files take 'forever' for e-mail download.
- Don't bother submitting photos with vast expanses of empty water or with tiny distant figures.
- If you don't have photo files ... you may send covering letter, print copies and a self-addressed stamped envelope to ...
