Welcome to "Algonquin Eyes"

This section of AlgonquinAdventurtes.com was established in the hope that it would allow "creative" visitors to the website to focus their attention accordingly. After two months of promotion, it garnered only slight use. This specialized "subsite" was a personal initiative rather than a response to any requests from readers. So, after a month of absolutely no use, it has been relegated to the "archives". (December 17th, 2010)

For well over a decade now, I've been running the website www.algonquinadventures.com. It serves as an information-sharing venue for campers, canoeists and naturalists who cherish their outdoor adventures in Ontario's great Algonquin Provincial Park.

Over that period, many of the website's users have shared their adventures along the park's waterways and trails. They've praised both the park's beauty and the beneficial effects that it has on their inner-selves .. using both the written word and photographic images to great advantage.

Amongst the submitted trip-logs, photographs and poetry, there have been continued inquiries about the various media involved .. primarily about photography and writing .. but recently growing to include videography and poetry. This "interest in sharing beauty" may very well be a side-effect of being immersed in the beauty of Algonquin. Or it could be that this same "interest in sharing beauty" is what brought many to Algonquin Park in the first place!

In response to this widely shared "interest in sharing beauty", I've conceived of this sub-site for those who wish to explore and share the "arts of sharing beauty" .. with a special homage to Algonquin Park.

Please note that this website is presently in its early formative-framework stage. You'll notice the sections' sub-menu links aren't yet active. I direct you to the top-menu's "Forums", where you can start discussions in the areas that interest you.

Over this coming winter, I'll refer to the forums' specific topics of discussion and develop the appropriate content in the various sections of the website. Simply put, the interests and questions you post in the forums will determine how the content is developed. Please note that due to its layout and intended image content, this subsite is optimized for wide format displays with dimensions of 1280 x 800 pixels or larger.
