"Spring Portage" ... by Alex Perovic ... taken the last weekend of April a few years ago, in the middle of the portage from Happy Isle Lake to Opeongo. I was carrying an overweight pack and canoe at the same time and about the middle of the portage I was exhausted. I laid the canoe down and dropped the pack. It was strange to see the snow and canoe in the middle of the trail. It reminds me of the exhaustion I felt.
