Ragged Lake Campsite #15
Landing Topography of under-water approach: Sandy beach landing from the west side. Impediments to disembarking from and/or unloading a canoe: None. Topography to tent sites: Coming up from the landing, there is a half-meter rooted elevation through the trees leading to the sprawling site. Throughout the site there are pockets that are cleared for tent spots. Photos provided here depict 3 good spots, but the site is level enough to support more smaller tents - not to mention the optional tenting on the large beach. Looking east at the large welcoming beach landing, the sign is off to the right ... The beach landing. It gets a little bit deeper where it goes darker, and then the clams begin to appear ... A better impression of the scale of the beach with an additional firepit. ... Campsite Regular or low-maintenance: Regular. Size of open ground area: Very open, large. Extent of tree cover: The entire core of the site is fairly well covered ... Degree of levelness: Fire pit and tent sites are level. Number of tent sites: 3+. North exposure: Trees. East exposure: Forest. South exposure: Lake. West exposure: Lake & beach. The main obstacle to go from the beach to the campsite core: a half-meter wall of roots ... The view looking south from the core over the main firepit gathering area ... The view looking east from the firepit reveals a two-tiered bushcraft shelving structure ... The tent spots are a bit sprawling throughout the site ... Here are two of the closest tent spots together ... General description: Overall a very large and level, but sprawling campsite that is well sheltered. The level terrain and wide west-facing (sunset) beach make this site a prime choice. Overall accessibility: Landing is a broad beach, and there is an erosion rooted lip up towards the core of the site. Overall highly accessible.
