The MNR's Electronic Forest Management Plans website provides links to files relating to the 2010-2020 FMP For Algonquin Park (451). However at the time of this news item, the files available on the Electronic Forest Management Plans website were limited to the Local Citizens Committee Statement, Preliminary Required Alterations, Summary Text and Summary Map.

However, the ABR has been able to acquire the full 70+ files (390 MG). Due to the sheer bulk of these files, we aren't making all the supplementary files generally available. The 'main FMP' file is a PDF of nearly 3 MB and can be downloaded here. If you need individual supplementary files, please email your request.

Following are excerpts of key points of special interest to the Algonquin Backcountry Recreationalists. Notations in red explain the pertinence of each extract.

Also, after the excerpts is an extracted sample of an Operations Map - Mapsheet F2. It includes a distance scale and legend icon definition for 'Operating Area Boundary'. The map illustrates that the 'certain higher priority areas' that the AFA won't be 'harvesting within' while the 'Lightening' process unfolds .. include increased 200 meter setbacks from some lakes and increased 120 meter setbacks from other lakes.
