June 19th, 2004 from Markus Rubino .. I've just laundered the test shirt I used for the Iron-on AA Logos. There is bad news and good news.

The bad news first .. The logo faded considerably and there was lots of flaking too. If lots of bleed (extra surface area around the logo) was left around the edges of the logo, the blank areas turn grey, with the accumulation of lint.

The good news is that the shirt did not feel stiff @ all .. the logo merged with the fabric of the shirt very well.

I recommend applying the logo to something that won't get washed that often (phew!) or won't get machine washed .. maybe a hat or a pack .. or if you do apply it to a shirt .. hand washing might be your only option. Maybe some of you out there have had better success with Iron-ons, or have better ideas. Please post them on the message board!

Also, a friend suggested applying wax paper, with an iron to the logo .. once it has cooled, to 'seal' the logo.

Editor's note: It sounds like the accumulation of lint could be happening in the hot environment of a clothes dryer. You might try just hang-drying the items.
