Drew (of the website "All Of Algonquin") has had an article featured online by the Explore Magazine .. "Tips for the Perfect Paddling Trip".

"It focuses on the three biggest mistakes I've made while paddling and what I learned from those mistakes. Writing for someone else was a new experience for me. I'm not used to having an editor (which is obvious if you've waded through any of my trip reports), and it's an interesting feeling seeing something you wrote that's been reinterpreted by someone else (to an extent)."

Drew (of the website "All Of Algonquin") and his pal Mark headed out of Kiosk on a six day early June trip through Maple and Erables Lakes, southwest on to Birchcliffe Cabin .. then onward to Highview Cabin .. then south to the Nipissing River and downstream to High Falls .. then closing the loop north through Nadine, Osler and Skuce Lakes .. and finally back to Kiosk via Erables and Maple Lake. "Birchcliffe, The Nip and Some Hills".

"The site is located on a hilly point, and there wasn’t a ton of flat ground for tents. On top of that, the wind whipping through the point made it pretty chilly. We ended up eating lunch huddled behind some bushes towards the back of the site. Fortunately, between the sun shining down and the soft bed of moss beneath us, this ended up being a pretty comfortable spot to eat some peanut butter. Once lunch was finished, all that was left between us and the cabin was about 3 KM of low maintenance portage. That’s a lot of low maintenance portage."

Ian Tendy has produced a trip-log of his early May week-long canoe trip with his buddy Shane .. "May Trip 2023" ... a loop out of Canoe Lake, through McIntosh, Grassy bay, White Trout, Big Trout and Burnt Island Lake.

"According to the weather report, the wind was going to be up all day and night, bringing the overnight low to -11 Celcius and we wanted to be as protected as possible in order to have a chance of enjoying ourselves. We turned around and started heading south, settling on the first multi-site island as you come out of the narrows. The sourthern-most site was simple, tarpable, easy to get in and out of, and protected! Between the narrow channel in front of us and the big hill behind us, this site was as good as we were going to get."
