Andrew M. has submitted two PCI campsite reports, which are now added to this website's Portage and Campsite Inventory Project.

CS. 14 on Lake Louise     CS. 15 on Lake Louise

".. two sites located on a small island. If you are looking for privacy, these are less desirable UNLESS you are with a larger group and are able to secure both sites, which would be a lot of fun."

Late this June, Matt Haughn .. producer and camera operator of the Mark in the Park TV Show headed out into Algonquin Park with Mark Rubino "Looking for Moose (Pt. 1)" on a Rosebary Lake 3-night basecamp trip.

Matt's video record of the trip is shared in three parts .. the original part 1 "Looking for Moose .. part 2 "Fishing and Bushcraft Stove" .. and the recently uploaded part 3 "Another Moose, Loon Nesting and Algonquin Soundscapes"

"I’m not much of a writer so my trip logs consist of videos. We had one goal and that was to see as many moose as possible. If you can believe it, I have never seen a moose in person before and Mark was set on changing that with this trip."

Drew (forum handle: "AlgonquinLakes") has also added a two-part .. "Return to Kiosk" to his All Of Algonquin" website.

The trip was a 4-day loop from Kioshkokwi Lake .. by way of Maple, Biggar and Manitou Lakes.

"I heard it before it hit us, this rushing, roaring wall of wind that turned a worrisome situation into a complete nightmare. All of a sudden the waves around us were three feet high, rain was pelting us, lightning and thunder were crashing overhead and our boat was being pushed around like a bathtub toy. We got swung around 90 degrees so that we were suddenly broadside to the wind and within seconds waves were lapping over the sides."

Drew (forum handle: "AlgonquinLakes") has added .. "Burnt Island Lake" to his "All Of Algonquin" website.

The trip was a 3-day family get-away north from Canoe Lake .. with two adults, three kids and gear all packed into a 17 foot canoe.

"The river gets quite shallow shortly after the portage and it wasn’t long before my wife and I were in ankle deep water, dragging the canoe upstream while the kids lounged and shouted orders. I kept myself going by reminding myself over and over that soon I would be the one doing the lounging and they would be the ones dragging my ass across various portages."

Late June, Robert M. (a.k.a. 'Uppa of Kayak Camper') uploaded a video of a quick two-nighter into McIntosh a few days after the interior opened .. "Canoe Lake to McIntosh".

"I was hoping for few bugs but expected the bugocalypse, and took a Eureka NoBugZone in with me as a result. As it turned out I barely used it - my site on McIntosh was virtually bug-free, and I had a peaceful and relaxing time. New kayak, new camera, and yet no problems to report - even the Tom Thomson/Ink portage felt easy."
