Algonquin Adventures has launched a new project .. the "Portage and Campsite Inventory". This longterm project is intended to provide detailed "accessibility" information to those planning their backcountry canoe trips.

The number of lakes, portages and campsites in the backcountry of Algonquin Park is extremely high. The scope of this endeavor is larger than the entire content of the Algonquin Adventures website to date. In order to succeed, the readership will have to embrace it with considerable fervor. Are we up to the challenge?

A while back, Alex Thompson suggested we have an Algonquin Adventures poetry contest. The outcome is a 'bragging-rights' poetry contest .. the "Algonquin Adventures Poet of 2009 Contest".

We're hoping to generate interest in 'Algonquin poetry' over the months ahead, so this contest will be a winter-long feature .. running through to the end of winter (March 21st, 2009).

Being that it's an informal contest, we're hoping for some interesting poem-related discussions on the website forum.
